From the Desk of the Executive Director
The NDIS is coming more quickly than anticipated and some people are receiving either letters or phone calls from the National Disability Insurance Authority (NDIA) to determine their eligibility for entering the NDIS as a Participant.
It was originally scheduled to roll out in our region from 1st November 2017, but it appears that contact is being made earlier.
The NDIA will be directly contacting people, or they may already have been contacted. The NDIA will be wanting to:
- determine a person’s eligibility to enter the Scheme and
- do a Plan to provide the funding for the best supports.
We highly recommend people request a face-to-face planning session, rather than an over-the-phone Plan, to ensure that you are talking to an NDIA Planner, and to ensure that the Plan is correct and fulfils all needs.
